Fields of Palouse
I am a huge fan of the impressionists - Monet, van Gogh, Renoir, Cezanne. I think that’s why I’m so captivated by the Palouse region in southeastern Washington State - it seems like an impressionist masterpiece come to life. From an altitude of about 3,600 feet and 1,000 feet above the surrounding terrain, Steptoe Butte provides a 360 degree vantage point of never ending variety of form, light and color.
